Decin Castle’s main access drive, the Long Drive, will be closed until the end of December 2024 for reconstruction. Both the Long Drive and its side passages are closed to all traffic, including pedestrians. Alternative access paths to the castle are shown on the map below. They include the northern path from Zamecka ulice and the path from the Castle’s southern gardens.

The Castle’s Rose Garden, a traditional favorite with visitors, is also undergoing extensive renovations and is closed to the public throughout the 2024 tourist season. It is scheduled to reopen in 2025. Under the hands of restorers, the fresco decoration of the sala terrena will be transformed, stonemasons will renovate the balustrades and decorative elements, and gardeners will plant roses in new beds. New water features in the form of fountains, sunken jets and a statue of Neptune will add to the atmosphere for visitors during the summer months.

We apologize for the inconvenience that these closures entail. But we are confident that the wait will be worth it.
