Zoological garden

You will hardly find a more beautiful destination for a family trip than the zoo. Děčín Zoo is tailored to families with children - you will find not only a number of climbing frames, but also many fun games and information boards that introduce the magical world of animals. Thanks to its location in the forest park on the Pastýřská Stena, the Děčín Zoo is one of the most unique facilities of this type in the Czech Republic. The exposition itself is also unique. In the enclosures, you can observe massive Kamchatka bears, Indian taipans, crested macaques, red-backed kangaroos, South American tapirs and anteaters.

The zoological garden on the Shepherd's Wall in Děčín was opened in 1949 (the second in North Bohemia). Today it breeds approximately 450 animals in more than 150 species. Its main purpose is to breed rare and little-known species of animals that are not found elsewhere in our country.

The zoo is open to the public all year round. It also offers visitors free wifi.

There is also an adventurous Zoo Trail leading to the Děčín Zoo with fun tasks from the world of animals. The route leads from the viaduct in Čsl. mládeže Street and continues along the forest trail to the zoo. For more information on the Zoo Trail, please visit here.

Paradise Islands

The Paradise Islands are a separate exposition of the Děčín Zoo, which can be found in the city centre on Teplice Street (about 700 m from the zoo). It was built on the site of the former Night Zoo called Sulawesi. From the original two rooms it has grown to much larger dimensions. It has risen to four floors and offers visitors a unique view of selected areas of the world and species of animals and plants. After more than thirty years of forced hiatus, the Děčín Zoo can once again show visitors various species of invertebrates, fish and reptiles. A brand new feature is the so-called ZooClub - a club room with stylized furniture, which serves for meeting nature lovers and travelers, organizing talks, exhibitions and educational programs.

With a ticket from Zoo Děčín you can free also visit Exposition Paradise Islands (valid only on the day of ticket purchase).
