Basic info
The lowest town on the Elbe, Decin, offers active relaxation in the Czech Switzerland National Park with adventurous excursions and impressive nature. The town is divided by the Elbe River and lies in the Děčín Basin with its historical monuments.

History
Děčín was founded by the merger of two towns in 1942. The city is connected to the river Elbe and was an important port and transport hub. The Dr. Miroslav Tyrš Steel Bridge, built in 1933, was the first riveted bridge in Czechoslovakia.

Current closures in Decin
The reconstruction of Děčín Castle will close Dlouhá jízda and Růžová zahrada by the end of 2025. Visitors can use alternative routes through the South Gardens or from the north from Zámecká Street.
