Cycling through Czechoslovak Switzerland

The circuit will lead you through the picturesque corners of the Czech Switzerland National Park, which include, for example, the Kyjov valley, the Weifberg lookout tower or the Tokáni lookout. The starting point of this route is the village Mezní Louka. From here you take CT 21, from which you turn off after a few hundred metres on CT 3030. You continue through Hluboký dol, which will lead you to the border at the former Rear Jetřichovice.

Cross the border and follow the blue trail through the valley of the Křinice River, from which you take the second right turn past Rudolf's Stone. This cycle path will lead you to the village of Hinterhermsdorf. Here it is worth going up to the Weifberg lookout tower on the blue marked trail. After you have sufficiently enjoyed the beautiful panoramas and views, you can follow the red trail, which runs in parallel with the cycle path to the crossroads Zadní Doubice - Hraniční Most. Alternatively, you can return from the Weifberg lookout tower to Hinterhermsdorf and from there continue towards Zadní Doubice - Hraniční Most on the green trail. Follow the CT 3032 along the Křinice. Beyond the border you will find the picturesque Kyjov valley, which you will pass through until you reach the Dix mill in the village of Kyjov. Then turn right and go back along CT 3029 through Stara Doubica and the Na Tokáni cottage to Vysoká Lipa. From there it is only a few kilometres along CT 21 to Mezní Louka.

The best on the route

The wooden Weifberg lookout tower, which offers a magnificent view of Saxon Switzerland and the surrounding area. The tower has been standing above the village of Hinterhermsdorf since 2000. It is freely accessible, no charge.
