Hike to Bukovka for beautiful views

Děčín - Těchlovice - Buková hora - Víťova rozhledna - Verneřice - Merboltice - Starý Šachov - Děčín

This more demanding bike trip starts in Děčín. Take the cycle route No. 2 - the Elbe Trail, which takes you up the Elbe to Těchlovice. At the Přední Lhota crossroads, turn onto cycle route 3124, from where you will climb about 9 km to Bukova hora.

The climb is quite demanding - you will cover approximately 600 vertical metres - but you will be rewarded with beautiful forest paths through Rytířov and natural tranquillity. At the top there is the Beech Mountain transmitter, which does not serve as a lookout tower. We therefore recommend a short detour along the red hiking trail to the Humboldt Lookout, from where you can enjoy an impressive view of the Bohemian Central Highlands.

From Beech Mountain, continue through pastures and meadows towards the Vít's lookout tower near Náčkovice, which offers further beautiful views of the surrounding countryside. Then descend to the town of Verneřice, from where the cycle route No. 3125 leads through the picturesque village of Merboltice to the valley of the Ploučnice River. From there, cycle route No. 15 - Ploučnice Cycle Path - will lead you back to Děčín.
