What you can look forward to on the first weekend of Advent

The first weekend of Advent is upon us, during which a rich cultural programme begins in our town. Find out where you can go and get a taste of the festive atmosphere in our article.

The first weekend of Advent is here and with it the first Christmas event. Come and enjoy the varied programme that will take place on Masaryk Square, Hus Square and Křížová Street. There will be musical performances, mulled wine, stalls and much more.

The main event of the weekend will be the lighting of the Christmas tree, which will take place on Sunday 1 December at 5 pm on Masaryk Square. During the day you can also look forward to performances by children from the DDM, the choir of the Děčín Gymnasium and the singer Bára Basiková.

This weekend you can also visit the Christmas Food Festival, which takes place on Saturday 30 November from 10 am to 7 pm on Masaryk Square. There will be stalls with Christmas and non-Christmas delicacies and a number of performances. The Rose Hill Band or Pavel Houfek & Káča Turek & Ventilky will play. At the end of the day you can also look forward to Martin Posta and his recital with songs by Hapka and Horáček.

In addition, the Christmas Alley in Křížová Street has been open since Friday. A rich cultural programme awaits you there every day until 26 December, with stalls open daily until the end of the year.

However, the first Advent will also be celebrated in Podmokle in Děčín. Hanka Řánková will sing at Hus Square on Sunday, December 1, from 4 pm and the Christmas tree will be lit at 5 pm.

A Christmas doubledecker will run between Hus Square and Masaryk Square on Sunday from 2 to 4 pm. More information here.
