Bicycle tour around the largest table mountain in Bohemia

The tour starts in the village of Sněžník, which can be reached by car or in the tourist season by cyclo-bus from Děčín.

The first destination is Děčínský Sněžník, the highest table mountain in the Czech Republic. Right at the beginning you will have a 2.5 km long hike, during which you will pass several interesting rock formations. The top of the mountain lies at an altitude of 723 metres and offers spectacular views from the Dresden Lookout, especially from the stone lookout tower. With good visibility you can see the rock formations of Bohemian and Saxon Switzerland, the Saxon Table Mountains, the Pink Hill, the Czech Central Highlands and even Jested.

After a visit to the lookout tower and a possible refreshment at the top, return to the village of Sněžník. From there, continue along cycle route No. 3017, which will take you through the forest to the Wolf Lake. Continue on cycle route 23, and at the next fork turn towards Rosenthal. Not far from this German village is a popular tourist destination - the Hercules Columns (Herkulessäule). However, this interesting rock formation can only be visited on foot.

The route then leads through pleasant forest paths back to Bohemia, specifically to Ostrov. The picturesque surroundings here invite you to relax, so we recommend a stop at the Hotel Ostrov, where you can enjoy refreshments with a view of the surrounding rocks. From Ostrov, you need to pedal a little and ride back up the hill to cycle route No. 23, which after a few kilometres will lead you back to the start of the trip in the village of Sněžník.

Alternatively, the trip can also be taken from Děčín.
