The link between the Elbe Trail and the Ploučnice Cycle Path has opened

We bring great news (not only) for cyclists. On Friday, November 1, the link between the Elbe Trail and the Ploučnice Cycle Path opened. The link is located between Ploučnická and Oblouková Streets along the Ploučnice River.

According to Ondřej Smíšek (Our Děčín), the deputy for city development and IT, this will increase safety and comfort when moving around the city. "Until now, cyclists have had to use existing roads when crossing between paths, where there is relatively heavy traffic and a higher risk of accidents. That is why we decided to build this connection," explains the deputy.

The whole project is based on the approved documents: the Strategic Development Plan, the Concept of Cycling Infrastructure in Děčín and the Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan of Děčín. The link was also made possible thanks to co-financing from the European Union.
