A half-ton wooden bear sits on the Jahn outlook terrace thanks to the combined efforts of the Municipal Cultural and Tourism Center and the Decin Zoo. The statue was placed here as part of the new Zoo Trail (Zoo stezka) that takes hikers from the heart of town up through the woods to the gates of the zoo.

The trail promises lots of fun for visitors of all ages. There is a photo point with another star of the zoo, the crested macaque, at the trailside and soon plaques with interesting facts about the zoo's inhabitants will be installed. Hikers will also have a chance to try their hands at various fun challenges.
