Where to get a cup of mulled wine, see the lights, and enjoy the holiday atmosphere

There are a number of places in Decin to enjoy the holiday atmosphere. The most charming may be the pedestrian zone at the foot of castle, Krizova ulice, where there are stands serving seasonal food and drink. Nearby, the castle’s south garden is lit up with lovely decorations. Or take a walk down to the bank of the River Elbe, where the municipal library building housing the Decin visitors center is decked out in garlands of fairy lights. The visitors center, by the way, is open until 8:00 p.m. every day until Christmas Eve, serving mulled wine and other hot drinks. Stop by to relax on the terrace and take in the riverside view of Tyrs Bridge and the holiday lights on Shepherds Bluff.
