Bohemian Switzerland has plenty in store for visitors this year

It has been nine months since a major forest fire hit Bohemian Switzerland. The national park has been recovering. However, some trails and areas will not be open to the public this year. These include the Edmund river gorge and the Gabriela trail from Mezni Louka to Pravcicka brana. The local authorities are in the process of planning interesting alternatives for visitors to the area.

One of these is a trail from Tri Prameny in Hrensko to Mezna with new rest areas and viewpoints overlooking Pravcicka brana arch. The trail provides an alternative to the closed Gabriela trail.

Another new development is shuttle bus service throughout the national park. The shuttles will make it easier to move around the park area damaged by wildfire. They will run on the rough Hajenky–Janov–Hrensko–Mezna and back. In addition, marking on hiking trails will be renewed.

The Divoka (“wild”) river gorge will be open for the main season this year. Starting in April, Pravcicka brana arch will be open daily between 10 am and 6 pm.
